WHAT INSPIRED YOUR PROJECT?
We wanted to start experimenting with different plastics and better solutions for the use of plastic in the toy and games industry. I was also looking for new injection moulders to work with in the UK. We are a unique company, focusing on children's toys and gifts, with a great sense of humour and wanted to find a new plastics manufacturer who was aligned with our goals.
WHAT CHALLENGES DID YOU FACE?
We are used to sourcing from overseas and price points can vary so much with onshore equivalents. However, we understand everything around the costs of running a business, machinery and wages. I just want to make sure that the finished products are sellable and high quality. We have worked with injection moulders for many years, and it is always different starting with someone new to understand how they work, and how we work then to come together on a project.
HOW DID GCP HELP OVERCOME YOUR CHALLENGES?
GCP collaborated well with us on our humorous ideas and went above and beyond with cowpat colour research. They got to understand what we needed from the project. Kiron never got tired of looking at different options to try to achieve a viable price point to keep the project moving. We received an education in various sustainable plastics and decided to opt for Gum-Tec for this project.
EXTRA EFFORT
The extra effort that was made through the supply chain to ensure that the right colour option was selected to bring the flying cow pat to life. As you can tell from the image provided, no stone or cow pat was left unturned to find the right option for the Farm Fresh Flying Cowpat Disc.
Since the product has been launched it has been shortlisted for the Gift of The Year Award.
